Little Things by Dillon D.

Our selfish desires can blind us

when they become our god.

They make us forget

all of our blessings.

Be thankful of the little things.

A roof over your head,

a comfortable bed,

these things we take for granted.

A kind word from a neighbor,

a gift from a stranger,

these things we overlook because our view is slanted.

Life is not about getting more.

A nice car

the fame and fortune of a Hollywood star,

these things, though nice,

can make us think twice

about the little things.

Life seems like a constant race

but we need to find our pace

Life is "a vapour that will soon disappear"

but I have no need for fear.

I am thankful for the little things I have.

With loving parents,

and encouraging friends,

how can I be sad?

But more importantly

I have a Savior that lovingly

gave His life

so that I can survive the night.

He keeps reminding me

that it is the little things I see

that truly fill me with everlasting glee.
