Poems about Animals

Calling from the church I heard God’s refusal and caught you in my arms.
The morning sun rises The world begins to wake I think of you and start to shake
Standing at the door with tears to the floor Memories of Lou come rushing some more
The typical words of pain, hurt and shame are the emotions that are commonly phrased
Turtles from Madagascar Marmosets from South America A Noah’s ark of endangered species
It sits in hard, smooth splendor   There was a face here   Once
I saw the best equestrians during my lifetime created by hard work and perseverance,
I'm from sweet ribbon candy,  along with fizzy bottle caps like fireworks against my tongue.
Away from the bustle of city folk, visiting a place not like my own. All is different and all is calm.
I hear your cries, but there are no words only foreign sounds and the commotion that you stir.
