get out of my brain
I can hear you in there now
between my ears
telling me all the things you have said before
that i don’t want to hear
get out of my brain
I can hear you in there now
between my ears
telling me all the things you have said before
that i don’t want to hear
Words I cannot say
out loud
Trapped within my heart
I scream
For my voice to be heard
I write
To supress that writhing agony
Within in me I have the power to move mountains
One strike of the pen and a whole city disappears
Another strike and a world is created
I can make elephants, lion and zebras come to life
People, people, people, we need people
We need others to push us to improve
Without them our good character is removed
The world today, slam, slam, slam
The world tomorrow bam, bam, bam
One small compliment
One large result
The world today, praise, praise, praise
The world tomorrow, change, change, change
You rant about your students not wanting to be here
Clearly, it is your fault we don't want to be
Instead of entering the classroom with a smile and cheer
The song tells me
"R-E-S-P-E-C-T"
but how can I respect when
my thoughts are censored?
Poetry is
expression.
I respect by
opinion.
You share yours,
Look at these teens as cute as can be
The Jock, The Princess, and the Brain all three
set the lead perfect little lives
With their perfect little friends
In their perfect little house just ‘round the bend.
