I hated you I did You were loud and boisterous  you wanted to be beautiful you wanted to be liked your first day of school at a predominantly white elementary school you looked for someone 
Chocolate girl, love your skin Amber glow radiates from within Your blackness, of which others are ashamed Is your refusal to conform or be the same  
Music tells a story Just because you stop listening doesn’t mean it ends Others hear the words the ones you deny Though to you it may only be noise
I am not what you say I am! The bane Existence unworthy... Function unneeded... Purposeless, worthless... You throw your sickness upon me! But I have not faltered entirely I’m sick of this world
this is not my legacy this is not my dream this is not my everything this is not what it seems
Sick of division, powered by ambition Brushed into a corner from their social superstition   What's your favorite color, boy? White girls are who he enjoys Therefore I'm not worthy of his attention
its a world hidden behind the appearance of intertwind shinanigans and crime i aplogize i didnt mean to rhyme   see its not just fun and games to get their names

They call me the actress Because I like to speak I’m wild and daring Not calming or meek But beneath this blonde hair dye Stage make-up of rose Are thoughts much more deep Than what people suppose I see my own faults Though you would never guess I
I’d like to imagineI can still feel the sting of the day she let go;clipped my wings with a word and said, Fly. I’d like to imagineI can wax lyrical and triumphant one more night;
Beat me with your tiger stripesIf I do as you say isWRONGPush me to the starving pointWhen my fear was nearlyGONERake me upI am decaying leavesNever leave me beEnslave me and my siege
