You're The One I Turn To

Going on summer adventures

As if we'll find hidden treasures,

Is, what I'd like to think, draws you and I in;

Each with our own goofy grin.

Whether it was a long day at school

Or an acceptance letter into my dream school,

You are the one I turn to.

Always with a smile on your face

Followed by a warm welcoming embrace,

You offer so much compassion

Even when it is considered to be "Old fashion".

Of course it is important to note that we don't lose sight

And pretend that there's never been a fight.

But it's equally important to be said that is not "you" or "me"

That is discussed, but how each of us learned the meaning behind "we".

You help my true colors shine

Through your patience and time

Matched with our laughs, and giggles about

Our shared memories no doubt.

As you've become my best friend

Who's been there until the end.

For all the above, needless to say,

I wouldn't trade in a day.

You're the one I turn to.
