You Said You'd be Better

You said you’d be better

Ha, what a silly letter

The words you wrote went away like a feather

Make time for me no more

There are way too many other things in store

You tell me your worries no more

He takes all your time

Oh the precious time that was once mine,

And when you are here

You are really with him there

Oh how you said you’d be better

My mistake to trust that we could be us together

From one to the next

You tell me to relax

This time will be different,

You promise,

But while you have fun

 Night after night

I sit alone without an invite

His friends become yours

And I become ignored

As you call me after fights

With tears in your eyes

The only time I hear your voice

Is on those nights

So I pray her breaks your heart

So we don’t have to be a part

but I’ve grown tired of my own broken heart

Oh you said you’d be better

Don’t you remember in you letter?
