I am color

Some may say I am a bother

They walk all over me as if I am smaller

 

They ask do you even have a father

Will I choose to let it define me

Or should I just let it go

 

I want them to see me stand tall like a tree

Just to let you know I am not slow

I promise I am filled with glee

 

Why do you just assume that I am bad

This is why you think I am not very good

All you do is make me sad

 

I am just a little kid that could

I even have good grades

You seem to come from perspectives of falsehood.

 

Yes, I know we all come in different shades

Why do you have to treat me different

Sometimes you play me like charades

 

Why do you mock me

Even tear me down

Why can't I just be free

 

This needs to change

I am self-made

But I am not so strange

 

I just want to live carefree

Live it up in the breeze

It can just be you & me
