Wishing

I want to go to Starbucks

And for you to hold my hand.

I want you to distract me

When I'm driving in the car.

I want to go to dinner

And end the evening with a kiss.

But more than anything,

I want you to want me

More than anything else.

I want to go get ice cream

And get just one to share.

I want to fall asleep

And wake up in your arms.

But more than anything,

I want you to want me

More than anything else.

I want to be the air you breath,

the blood within your veins.

I want to be your sun,

Your moon, your stars.

Because you're already that to me.

I want to lay around in sweatpants

And watch movies on the couch.

I want you to call me beautiful

Even when I look like crap.

I want you to whisper in my ear

Just three simple words

And validate all my hoping.

If you loved me back,

Everything would be OK.
