Wish I was

Fairy Tales

Are written about princesses

With magic and love.

But people forget about

those who don’t get happy endings.

They forget about the small

People who lift the

princess to where she is now.

They leave people like me,

Down here in the dirt to fend for myself

As they are showered in jewels and happiness

And I try to find some way to be content.

You see, when my prince

Told me I wasn’t good enough,

Cinderella was.

When my prince told me

I needed to be better,

Snow White was there.

When my prince told me

He found someone else,

She was Rapunzel.

When my prince left me,

He found a princess.

So its hard to believe in

Your fairy tales

When all of mine

Have left me here in the dirt.
