"Win, Baby Win"

"Win, Baby Win"

My mother is my biggest fan.

She would cheer me on from the stands.

There was always one line

That rings in my head from time to time.

“Win, Baby Win”.

Failure was never a choice.

College would give me the voice.

I had the desire to be great

Like my mom said behind home plate.

“Win, Baby Win”.

The Mountains then called me home.

The World became mine to roam.

I remembered the days I said “someday”,

Now I’m about to win my way.

“Win, Baby Win”.

“Someday I will leave this place”.

“Someday I will help erase

The pain seen in my mother’s face”

Just like she always told me

“Win, Baby Win”.

Parents became separated.

Created a young boy with desperation.

“God, give me the power

To climb this uphill tower”.

“Just Win, Baby Win”

Money became tight.

Nights I cried ‘til daylight.

Tensions were at an all-time high.

But then I recited that famous battle cry

“Win, Baby Win”.

Looking back, I know see the good.

Although I climbed the hill with many skids,

I reached the top.

Now the goal is nonstop.

“Win, Baby Win”.

It’s wild how much you learn from the tough times.

Those moments made me for my prime.

Leading young men through the pines

With one goal in mind.

“Win, Baby Win”.
