I do not write poetry for people.

I do not write poetry for you.

I am blessed, yes, but I sit beneath no peepul.

It is not for the “ahs” or the “oohs”

I write poetry

            Not for me.

I write poetry for it wants to be written.

It is not for creed.

            Rather because I am smitten.
