Where the Sun Doesn't Shine

The snow doesn't melt

on the edge of a field;

no one seems to notice

where the sun rarely shines.

secluded patches of life

struggling to survive

snow constantly collecting

but the sun does not shine.

Eventually the snow is gone

along with the life beneath

before anyone even noticed

because the sun did not shine.
