When Sunlight Becomes the Dark

When sunlight becomes the dark,

I pray that you are the path

That illuminates my heart.

When sunlight becomes the night,

You are the shield I run to

Behind your glorious sight.

When light is the exception

And dawn is the norm,

I seek you, my bastion.

When sunlight becomes the cold,

I claim refuge in you;

Warmth and safety you hold.

When the sunlight becomes rare

And fear is prevalent,

Still in death's eyes I stare.

My courage and strength

   When darkness is the day,

My voice, my vision

   In a miracle way,

My guidance and my light

To me; all of me, only me.
