What time is it?

Can someone tell me what time is it?
Tick tock, tick tock,
The clock of my life ticks away,
This is not a game, no child’s play.
My life is on pause, with the gamer in control.
Why is he doing this? What is his goal?
Walking on this road, but I’m not going anywhere.
Trying to play life’s game, but the rules are unfair.
So I’m like Bon Jovi, living on a prayer.
Can someone tell me what time is it?
I was born outside, but this is my nation.
Ever since I was three, I was fighting immigration.
Should I pay for something that wasn’t my fault?
Who are they to tell me my life is just a default?
They denied me my opportunity because I didn’t have papers.
But I live for the day for these law-fakers to become law-makers.
They proudly shout, “Red, white, and blue”,
They say they’re doing everything they can do,
But I’ll like to see them step down to earth and live a day in my shoes.
Can someone tell me what time is it?
It’s not easy being denied by my own government,
I felt like giving up, but thank God I didn’t.
You see, I’ve lost faith in earth, but not in the sky.
He knows what he is doing-even though I don’t know why.
Yeah, I know, I’m writing this message subliminally,
Not for you to take my words critically or politically,
But for you to take them significantly.
Can someone tell me what time is it?
Don’t worry, I know the time now.
It’s my time. Clap as I take my bow;
Because my story now comes to an end,
But I know my life has just begun.
I am a giant, no longer an ant,
I am an American, no longer Ameri-can’t
Tick tock, tick tock…
Finally, he pressed play on the clock.
