What They Think I Should Believe

I am so peaceful,

So comfortable in my pain.

It seems like such a scary thing,

But it all feels the same.

Because I know if I were happy,

I would never understand

The realities of life-

The liberty to take a stand.

I had never realized

That to find the light,

One must engulf himself in darkness

And come out the other side.

Even though the sun is gone

Enveloped in the clouds,

I''ve never seen the world so clearly-

I'm so very proud.

I know exactly who I am

And what I'm going to achieve.

No more people telling me

What they think I should believe.
