The Voice of Hope

Tue, 04/12/2016 - 21:14 -- brmoola

My life, a boat.

The shore no longer comforting.

As the sun stings my naked back

My sweat stings my eyes.

Hunger drives me to devour and cough up

Sand

Sand that was once the beginning

Of a dream where uncertainty crashed

Against the sweet solid security.

and yet

and yet there's this Voice

This Voice that sings to me like a siren calls to

A homesick sailor who aches for the shore,

Whose heart yearns for feasts, gold, and glory galore

Yes the Voice wakes my core and

Prods at my spirit

Awake.

Awake and know that there is hope

Help is coming.

There just is.
