Vivid

Location

They say you only dream

In black and white.

If that's the case

I've never seen

Such vivid blacks and stunning whites

As run through my mind at night.

Longing, peril, mystery;

I'm running from unseen attack

With rapid eyes shooting

With nocto-neural electricity.

The fitful night is

Action-packed.

Imagination, thoughts

Without interpretation,

I'm leaping through a field

Of dew-colored poppies

Like a bold, brave eagle

Of dashing pride.

The sanguine night is optimistic.

Your name is there but I can't see

Your face and though

It beckons me

In this mirage,

This paranormal photography,

I just don't get it.

But I'll know tomorrow.

The corners of my memory

Awake and then it all

Makes sense.

I recover from delusion and

Into a clear day
