A View on Chains and Shackles

For those who have face discrimination do not continue to be silent.

Stand up with both feet deeply planted firm and strong and speak your truth.

Don’t give them anymore power over your life.

Find a courage in you set it free.

Bring about awareness through love not hate and violence.

Be vigilant, strong, and proud.

Be proud of the hair that coils, waves, and curls tight as your symbol of nature.

Be proud of the thickness of your lips that let your kisses be soft and blissful.

Be proud of the curves that gives home to the inner you.

Be proud of the eyes that let you see far more than what's in front of you.

Be proud of the skin your body has been wrapped in to hold all of you together.

Don't let them shackle you whip you and condemn you to a slavery you can free yourself from.

Their wicked ways have no effect here or anywhere else.

You will overcome any block they use to try and stumble you.

You can not be judged for you skin or anything else.

You are who you are and as long as we accept their ignorance the longer it will thrive. Flush all the unnecessary hatred right out of our neighborhoods and out of our children's ears.

Teach them to never let it seep out from their tongues like oil and spark flames with their lips to burndown hope.

Speak life not death because the power to end it all starts with you and the marks you leave behind.
