She is unwanted; someone everyone looks over
She wonders why you make her suffer
She hears your cruel words playing in her head like a broken record
Every day she prays to her Lord
That one day your words won’t tear her apart
One day she hopes you find it in your heart
To see the girl she is on the inside
Because ever since you’ve bullied her, it’s something she has to hide
Don’t you see those scars on her skin?
She used to be your best friend
Promises broken, lies oversold
This feeling inside of her is ever so cold
Silver metal that shines so bright
Scarlet blood that feels just right
She dreams of one day calling it quits
However, there’s one thing she can’t admit
You treated her like she was worthless, nothing to the world
And still her love for you never whirled
You never really considered what your actions would do to her
But if you could go back in time, would you put it in reverse?
Those words cut her deep
Those scars she’ll forever keep
Just stop all the lying, it’s doing no good
All I ever wanted was to be understood
Now that I’ve grown, my heart is complete
I still miss you my friend, but I’ve admitted defeat
I don’t hate you my friend, never that
I only wish you would take it all back
But I’ve learned so much from this beautiful pain
In my life, I’m pretty sane
Being perfect doesn’t matter and neither do you
I can only be me, that’s one thing that stays true.
