The Unspoken War

Fri, 05/17/2013 - 00:11 -- MelGarr

Aware of what the future beholds,
I reach a hand out into the dark beyond.
Rising up from this earth,
Called my grave,
This translucent flesh
Rots away.
I realize I'm not alone;
Thousands more will die today.
When will be the time
We overflow
And the dead have no where to go?
Starvation will take hold;
Disfigured bones ripping through the skin.
This will be the time
The dead become living again.
As I reach a hand out
Into the dark beyond,
I rise up from this earth
Called my grave.
I realize I was so alone
In the fight to save the human race.
I needed not just a few,
But everyone
In this shameful war
Made by our hands
In a Billion ways.
Always,
Something so beautiful,
We destroy.
Always,
Handled like a pointless toy.
But this is not
A simple game.
In the end
Death will be our fame.
