Under the Cottonwood Trees

Location

I sit here so simply under the cottonwood trees

Resting and wondering, What's out there for me?

A world so vast and so much to see

Yet I remain under the cottonwood trees

I can go sing, I can go dance, I can go jump, I can take a chance

My heart racing to dream and think of it all

All while I sit and watch cotton fall

Yet my own mind discourages me, and says no to all

You can't do these things its impossible

My mind trumps my heart as I sit in dismay

Maybe just maybe I will achieve something one day
