Twisted Reality

Pain consumes the world

As we sleep in innocence

But our slumber only ventures

Through a labyrinth so immense

We conquer some dreams

But in others we succumb

There is no escape

Only moon, only sun

On and on we fear the truth

As it rises up to meet us

Displayed for all the world to see

No remorse for its freedom

So when in the web of lies

We seem so richly enlightened

It is in all reality

We are so utterly frightened
