Troubled Minds

Location

You're not really sick!

You just want attention!

You just want to be treated differently!

That's what they cry

Their words becoming sticks and stones

That break my soul, mind, and bones

Yet nobody does anything!

The adults that are supposed to show us right from wrong

These so called teachers who shape our young minds

Do nothing but sit back and watch

Claiming that the others are doing nothing wrong

That they didn't see or hear anything

While they calmly look on as I'm torn to shreds

Where is the light in this black hole?

Is there no escape?

Please don't say that I'm stuck here for all eternity

.....

I scream as I wake in a cold sweat

Eyes flitting nervously about my room

While my new found friends rush to my side

Silent words flowing forth from caring thoughts

As warm arms wrap around me in comfort.

Dreams of my past

Of days recently gone by

Will haunt me for awhile still

But I know now that such tortures aren't for eternity

And that a peaceful place for one to rest

Will appear once the long storm has passed.

For while they say nothing good ever lasts,

Nothing bad can either.
