Time Bomb

Location

The Future awaits

Taunting me in its ambiguity

Presenting its ever changing possibilities

Unsettling mares that wake me from my sleep

No rest will be for me

as I sink before I swim

and my dreams seem paper thin

beside the harsh realities of life

Each step I take

drags me backward a mile

The journey doesn’t seem worth the while

as I drown each time I’m saved

Time ticks on slowly

even as the years fly by

Even as hope lives and dies

the future waits patiently
