A Thousand Times

Fri, 09/02/2016 - 22:56 -- dogma

In this life, I will die a thousand times over.

I've learned the sun doesn't wait for me, and it doesn't wait for you,

and that's okay

We can watch the stars together in the meantime

I don't want to hurt anymore

but punches and kisses are synonymous

and I find myself yearning for heartbreak

In the time you've been gone I've found I am ever expanding

While searching for a body to fill I've become as vast as the sky we used to lie under

As I rise to the heavens, I become the Oxygen that fills my own lungs

Eventually I will rid myself of your wounds

Yet today, I am still afraid.

This fear is alive with energy.

I might perish, as the torment tears me apart.

Pobrecita, I wish you didn't ache.

Pobrecita, I wish you didn't live in fear.

Pobrecita, I wish I hadn't failed you.

I pray you find it in your heart to forgive me. If not in this life, maybe the next.
