Take A Breath

The water is rising
It drags you down
As you struggle to swim back up
You want to breathe
But your lungs are filled
With a sea of regret

They all warned you
But you refused to listen
You dived head first
Into the icy water
Not knowing how deep
Your fear could get

Now you see death
As you drown in your misery
This is what it came to
You denied who you were
And forgot who you are
Now the light slowly fades away

But there is still hope
You have another chance at life
Someone loved you enough
To help you find the light
They pulled you from the water
And revived your broken soul
Now you can take a breath
And find shelter from the cold
