The Table Round

Disscussion,

Can't we just talk?

Round table

no intimidation

from whom I was Born,

Blood shared,

Bones grown,

Umbilical Cord.

Can't we just tal-

Intimidation.

Raised Voices

and

Assumptions

Jump to Conclusions

Rise up.

Chair Scrapes on Wood

Too Fast

Assumptions

Too Personal

Words Strung

Delicate Tangle

Can't we just ta-

Emotions

Too Strong.

I feel your pain

I carry your burdens

I see your Stuggle.

An anchor Around my waist.

Umbilical Cord

I carry your world

Where is mine?

Taken too personal

Can't we just t-

Please!

I see your Reasons

Understand

I open my doors

my windows

my heart

but will you look?

I invite you In,

Will you hear me?

My heart hurts for You.

Where do I put Your pain?

I'm no donkey Nor camel Nor horse,

Five Foot One

Fleshy

a Human.

Too Sensitive.

Too Personal.

I hurt for you.

Pause

Chair comes back

without scraping

Calm

Reach out

Your hand takes mine

Warmth

Understand

Blame you I do not

Please

Can we just talk?

Reel In your Anchor

Deep Breath

A sigh.

I allow myself

To place your burdens in the ground

Plant a Seed

Leave the Table Round.
