Survivor

I am a survivor, are you?

When life gets tough

I'm still the driver, are you?

Even when I've had enough

When life is long

it matters not why

our pain is strong;

we will not cry

So come now my darling away from the blade

put down the pills

don't let your life fade

for you can climb this hill

"In heaven above" they say.

"God watches our tears

but when he comes on that day

then, he'll calm our fears."

We go see his love

into the night

it comes from above

shining down as a light

But as for me, myself and I,

my road takes a different path

one from which I will not shy

one I hope will ever last.

I will survive, will you?

I will thrive, will you?
