Stereotypical Stripper

I am a stripper!

Or at least that's what I will be,

Spending hours breaking my feet.

Working all night just wanting to sleep.

Dancing around for society to see.

It was all because you defined me.

My blonde hair was clear to see.

That society told me I would end up on MTV.

It's one of those show I know you've seen..

the one with the babies and the moms that are teens.

For a while you might've made me believe,

that only a speckle of starlight could have been seen.

I'm much more than that as you can see,

I'm on my way to finding me.

Though the journey is long & wee,

I will no longer allow society to be me.

If you if you could look past this sheet,

you would see a brilliant young woman waiting to be.

Nothing high & nothing low.

This stream I'm on, is for me to row.

I am beautiful & talented, this I know,

All because you never let me know.

I am not you & you are not me.

I tried so hard to make you see.

That I am not what you called me out to be.

Speed it up to 2023,

my hair is blonde

and plain to see.

But this time I am a nurse with a degree,

all because I knew how to define me!
