The Sometimes Y Rule

Location

I can recite the alphabet.

But if someone were to ask me,

“Can you recite it without vowels?”

I’d respond

“Why?”

Wh xcld th bldng blcks f vry wrd?

Vowels may only comprise

19-23% of the alphabet,

but they are essential.

They are supposed to be there

‘til the very last

X.. Y... Z

Well sometimes Y is considered a vowel

othertimes it’s excluded.

Depending on the circumstances

So maybe if Y can learn to accept

its impermanent state,

and rejoice in the times it was included,

I can learn to adapt to the absence

of things I once thought were permanent.

And accepting the “sometimes Y” rule

is the first step to accepting your life without a certain

vwl.
