Someone.

You wake up one day, with your normal routine,

Get dressed, brush teeth, it’s a regular scene.

But this day isn’t just a regular day,

Something is missing, something I won’t say.

Left your house, down the path, and saw the funniest thing,

A monkey making faces, and trying to sing.

What was funny at first, turned your smile into tears

For seeing it reminded you, you’ve no one else here.

See, a deserted island is deserted because this,

You’re the only one on it, so it’s someone you miss.

But not just a ‘someone’, but a faithful friend,

Someone who loves you and cares, who will be there til the end.

Hopefully you see now, you don’t need money or fame,

They won’t fulfill you, and are really quite lame.

If there’s one thing in this life, that we can’t live without,

It’s a loving companion. Thanks for reading, I’m out.
