Some Kind of Soulmate

On that day I thought I knew

Who I was and what to do

It wasn't until she passed me by

Then I learned that was a lie

Had I known that day

How much meaning I'd put into May

I'd have met her that much sooner

and introduced her to a little rumor

Equals have a habit of dividing

But still we had years of confiding

After all that said and seen

She was now just sixteen

A hint of a rift, a tear

Had yet to break the air

Although I know we'd be leaving

I had no sign of grieving

Through the lost and unknown

I knew I'd have my own

A clear mark on my soul

Who understands me as a whole

Fading at last into light

Even now I welcome the sight

I see her here through the dark

It is she who is the spark
