Sleeping Beauty Feminist

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful Princess named Sleeping Beauty or Princess Aurora.

An evil sleeping spell was casted on her Maleficent. Aurora would not awaken until true love's first kiss.

And there Prince Philip slayed the evil Maleficent and saves the day by kissing Sleeping Beauty and they lived happily ever after.

But why does the story end here. Why does Sleeping Beauty have to wait on a man to save her. Could she be her own superwoman and save herself?

It's time to break the stereotypes of princesses being portrayed as a helpless damsels in distress and start portraying princesses as strong willed

women that are capable of saving themselves. Portray real love, let the Prince and Princess be equal and care for one another.

Show that love will have it's ups and downs but at the end of the day true love will perserve by overcoming obstacles.
