She Was Blind and Lost Her Mind

They thought she was over him.
She knew she lost it:
Her mind, her dignity, their trust.

She wanted something, someone
Who she could not speak of
Nor could she dream of in her nightmares.
She wanted him
But she didn't realize he was already
Engraved into her.
As a scar,
A star,
A forever fighting war.
Yet she would run back to him
In a heart beat
To her defeat.

He treated her sweat and sour,
Once showing her the rainbow after the storm
And now threatening her lightening.

Slowly they thought she was becoming the old her
But everyday
A small corner of her soul would chip,
A star would fall,
Her vision would blur.

She was blind,
Lost her mind,
And always saw her past rewinde.
They thought she won all odds of her war
Until one day she became a distant star...
