To See (But Not Go)

When memory calls upon me

I sit to remember

Joyous or Melancholy

Awake or in slumber

The sights I have seen

The things I have known

The people I’ve loved

Even though some are gone

Now they look on me from above

For we both had loved

We both had known

We both had seen

But one was gone

So now I wait

Until I’m called

To be reunited with them all

At the end I’ll see them there

To love and know

To see but not go
