She's spent hours staring into space

with no thoughts in her head.

She's spent days clinging to words

They say words can't  inflict pain

But time and time again she looks into the mirror  

Her mind clinging to words

She feels worthless 

She's spent years hiding behind smiles that seem genuine

Behind bars that others can not see

But she can feel

She says she doesn't cry 

But the heaviness on her soul tells me otherwise
