scarred

The corpse is covered in scars

Each a memory splattered with pain

On some parts, skin is still violently red

Trying desperately to heal itself

The open wounds will close and heal

But they’ll be dark marks that fade to white

Those painful memories will always be on the body

They were tattooed by a jagged edge

They don’t compare though

They can’t

They’ll never compare to the scars in the mind

The scars that will never turn from red to dark to white

The scars that will never heal

The corpse is covered in scares

But they’ll never compare to those in the mind
