Salt Water Memoirs

I used to feel nothing but yellow
Though lately I've been undividedly blue
I write it all down on paper
So I can remember you

You were the one who taught me
Everything you do
You pay for
I should've kept that in mind
When you set me free

I've tried to sail these waters on my own
But the tide's too strong
It's whisked away every rung of backbone
By now I shoulder no other bones to turnover

After all
You taught me
You can't just have
"One little taste"
As this is what it takes
When blue takes over
I'll bleed in waves that wash out the colors of the sea
And I'll do it all for you

If this is to be my swan song
Let this go down as my parting wish
To wind back the clock
And have those two colors mix
