The River Child

Stop struggling child, you are almost there,

To death’s Dream Kingdom.

The water has widened to give you a safe journey.

Let the Lady of nebulas and grains of sand take your hand.

Let her drape the soft cool blanket of earth upon your shoulders.

Let her harness the tide to strip you of your burdens.

Let her harness the winds to take your breath away.

Let her lead you six feet below the stars

To her earthen fortress. Where there is

No sound, no movement, and

No more struggle.

Remember that you are innocent when you dream.
