Once upon a time
There was a little girl
She had a mother and father
And a small black puppy
And her room was blue
And her sheets were blue
And she was in preschool,
Where she made a friend
Who showed her how to play house
And told her that if she picked the petals off of flowers, that boy would like her.

Once upon a time
There was an innocent girl
She had a dad who came home late
And an untrained dog
And her room was still blue
And her sheets were still blue
And she was in middle school,
Where her friend never went to class
And taught her how to cheat on tests
And told her if she stuffed her bra, that boy would like her.

Once upon a time
There was an angry girl
She didn't have a father and had a crying mother
And an old old dog
And her room was dark
And her sheets were stained
And she was in high school,
Where her friend got suspended
And taught her how to smoke weed
And told her if she got drunk, that boy would like her.

Once upon a time
There was a young woman
She had left her wasted mother
And her dog got hit by a car
And her room was new
And her sheets were new
And she was in college,
Where her friend got raped
And taught her how to hate
And told herself that boy would never like her.

Once upon a time,
There was a little girl
She had a gun in her hand
And a hole in her head
And her room was red
And her sheets were red
And she was in hell,
Where her friend said she was going
And told her that it was okay to die
And that boy told her he really did love her after all.
