Remembering What's Important

Learning optimism is learning a language you don't speak.

It takes trial and error.

It takes effort and focus.

It takes acceptance and hope.

Stopping and smelling the roses-

That's what I need to do.

Turn to God and the beauty of Earth-

That's what keeps me feelin' good.

Noticing the leaves turn in Fall-

Watching the squirrels gather for Winter-

Listening to the birds call in Spring-

Smelling the barbecue in Summer-

That's what keeps me feelin' good.

What really matters is not my trivial issues.

It's o much bigger than me.

My life is safe-

And that's what keeps me feelin' good.

That's what keeps me feelin' good.
