The Real World

In the real world

You keep telling me this

As if the last 18 years

Are nothing but a free pass

Do you think I've learned nothing?

I have made & lost friends

Dealt with bullying & harassment & peer pressure

Listened to my parents scream & push me too far

I have battled depression

But I know nothing

I'm not ready

It's not like I already live

In the real world

This poem is about:
Me
My family
