Put Me Down

Call me a freak, call me a loser
In one ear and out the other
I’ll stand tall
No matter what you do, you can’t make me fall
Because I know I’m different from you
I don’t put others down to make myself feel better
That’s something anyone worth anything won’t do
I’ll stand tall
No matter what you do, you can’t make me fall
Trust me when I say, I’ve heard it all
They call me names you don’t want to hear
But it’s alright in the end
They try to label me gay or queer
But I’m my own person; they don’t own me
They never will
Because I’ll stand tall
Not matter what you do, you can’t make me fall
I plan to go somewhere with my life
That’s more than you can say
When I see a challenge, I face it head on
But you, you always run away
Afraid to accept what you don’t know you can beat
So all you can hear is the pounding of your feet
As you flee to someone you can make fun of
That’s something you know you can do
That’s why I’ll never be you
I’ll stand tall
No matter what you do, you can’t make me fall
