Purple Pansies

Mon, 01/08/2018 - 20:21 -- Reidway

Dear Mom,

Thank you for my blonde hair and for giving me life,

but I guess I must thank Father for my pale green eyes and constant need to repeat myself.

Thank you for loving me,

but mostly thank you for loving me when no one else could have.

I may be two of your three,

but I've given you the grief of four, and maybe even then a bit more.

You, you have a strength I've never seen in another human,

Your heart is solid gold and your love boundless in nature,

like a field of  purple pansies you cannot see the end of.

You are more forgiving than this world deserves.

And, I wish I was more like you,

You are the sunshine, the only sunshine,

And me, I am just another rainy day,

I'm growing tired of engulfing all the warmth around me with gray.

I love you,

I'm sorry,

but thank the you for my blonde hair and for giving me life.
