Like a Purple Iris in a Sea of Blue

Location

I am like a purple iris

Mkxed into an ocean of blue flowers.

Although my feet are firmly rooted in the ground,

I sway slightly in the breeze,

always searching for the sun.

I am similar to those around me,

Yet different.

I constantly look for ways to

Improve - to become stronger.

Sometimes, I feel lonely,

And other times I join in

The blue flowers' fun.

When the separation hurts too much,

I picture a cozy wood fire with

A happy family and roasted veggies.

One of of the best things

Is to follow the sound of water

Somtimes it leads me to

Children's laughter - my favorite.

Sometimes, it brings me to silence -

Both empty and full.

My happy place is the open

Feeling of freedom and security:

Blowing in the warm air with

My friends, the sun

Shining on my face.

Like a purple iris

In a field of blue,

I am confident,

Because the earth shares its secrets:

Remember to breathe and smile

And the heart will fill with peace.
