Pray For The Prey

I saw you,

Once in a dream, twice with a scream.

You stood there watching,

Praying.

Waiting.

I was there playing,

Singing, hoping.

Like fairies on a flower,

We danced on short legs,

Wide eyes full.

You watched.

Our eyes sparkling.

You waited.

We played the day away.

The sun set to dusk.

I looked at you.

You looked into me.

Why were you there,

You are the Abyss.

The abyss that looked into me.

Now I see you in my dreams.

And I scream.
