The Power of Freedom

Tue, 03/05/2013 - 22:50 -- EverSo

Those who wrote the law
full of special holes
riddled with exceptions
Their money flows
their hands reach
They claim power
but natural rights they cannot bend.
This inherent power
fought for with the blood of many
won with the courage of the stubborn
throughout the ages
frees all from subjection
Paper chains of heavy iron burned.
Unnatural restraints lifted.
Arms outstretched and hands held open
embracing decisions of import and the simple
We have the right to make.
The future is Ours
full of opportunity
Our hands, minds, souls free
to make our dreams reality.
