The Place I call home

The place I call home -Jessica Jazmin Michaca Silva

I come from a place where families are always united

I come from a place where music is always blasting at every corner

A place where the mariachi band plays in special occasions

A place where we celebrate Quinceañeras as a wonderful tradition

A place where no one pays attention to those who live in poverty

A place where politics are always corrupt and grow fat stealing our money

A place I call home even though I was raised in the U.S

The place I wish I can travel to and arrive to hug my grandparents

The place that is known to be filled with violence and drug dealing

If only people can see the true beauty of the place I call home

If only they can see the hard working people that come to the U.S from the place I call home

Just to get a chance to live the american dream

Mexico is the place I call home

No matter how far away I am from the place I call home

It will always be my home
