Or so we're told

Love, relationships and the feelings we get,

Subject to infatuation, lust and the feeling of longing.

Love is bad, love is good.

Feelings make you weak,

Yet im supposed to trust you with my “weakness,

how?

These emotions get easier as you get old, easier with time,

or so we’re told.

Everyone knows what a healthy relationship should look like,

right?

That’s why we are advised by peripheral voices about how relationships should look,

“They should act like this, be like that and walk like this”

As we demote our knowledge to second class, less important

We actively allow surface spectators to steer the cornerstones of our relationships

But we should listen and act because …

well that’s what we’re told.

We’re told that ‘you must communicate, be loyal and trust each other’,

‘you must communicate, be loyal and trust each other’,

Advise becomes parrot like or a loop of words dissecting, blurring and obscuring our original feelings,

So much so that we start to question the person we sort after,

But our knowledge and opinions have been downgraded, remember?

What we know, experienced and valued about our other is overshadowed by narrow, misinformed and misdirected surface spectating peripheral voices,

What we think becomes insignificant,

Should we listen to our heart, soul and mind?

Or do as we’re told?
