One Spring

One March after a cool, winter flurry

The silent, beautiful world rested

A youthful boy, full of hope but worry

Felt as if he was being tested

The does emerged with those that survived

Chirping bluebirds sung, it was spring at last

The striking statement had newly arrived

His gifted father had recently passed

Yet when all seemed to fall, few things remained

That was, motivation, regret, and hope

The warm months soon appeared and life was pained

The boy struggled with beginning to cope

The road sizzled at the drop of a tear

But wrapped in my heart, my dad was in here
